Support & Help

Last updated: October 28, 2026 · Suitable as the App Store Support URL

Falmivo — give familiar faces a name. This page summarizes how the iPhone app works. It is local-first, free (no store, coins, subscriptions, or IAP), and does not perform face recognition.

Getting started

What does Falmivo do?

It helps you manually box people on family photos, write names and kinship, keep confirmation sources, organize unresolved items, run roll call and source desks, and export numbered images or PDFs. You decide identity and dates.

What should I do on first launch?

Read the intro, enter with a local identity, then set a nickname and avatar (preset or Photos). Open Photos and add your first photo. No traditional network account is required; after you complete your profile you can optionally sync for reinstall restore.

How do I add the first photo?

In Photos, tap +, import from Photos or capture with Camera. Optionally add a back image, then fill title, album, place, and date precision (exact / approx. year / range / unknown).

Why Photos, Camera, and Microphone?

Photos for imports or avatars; Camera for fronts/backs; Microphone for source voice notes you start. If denied, you can still edit existing records and use written sources.

Labeling people

How do I name someone in a group photo?

Open the photo, add a box, drag to fit. The app only assigns a stable number. Type a name, or leave unknown and finish later in Confirm.

Are same names merged automatically?

No automatic face merge. The people index may group by name, but regions stay separate until you confirm a merge on the compare desk (merges can be undone).

Confirm tab

What are List / Roll Call / Sources?

List shows unresolved spots; Roll Call walks one photo person-by-person; Sources fills sources for named regions that still lack confirmation.

Why is Confirm empty on a new account?

That is expected. Gaps appear after you add photos and labels. Use Ask guide in the toolbar to learn how batch question cards work.

Question Cards vs Bulk ask?

Question Cards opens cards you already created. Bulk ask selects unresolved regions to generate new cards. When the list is empty, the trailing action explains how asking works.

Sources and questions

What goes in a source note?

Who confirmed it, confidence (Witnessed / Retold / Inferred), and a short note—or a permitted voice memo. After you save a source on a region, it appears under Existing sources and syncs with the collection.

What if family members disagree?

Keep both accounts. Use Conflict desk to compare, pick export preference, or generate a check-in question card.

Sync and profile

Will data survive reinstall?

The sandbox clears on uninstall. If profile/collection sync succeeded, reinstall with network so the same device identity can restore. Restore coverage matches what actually synced.

Do I need the network?

No for core labeling, confirm, and on-device export. Network is for optional restore, sync, and media upload.

Export and deletion

What can I export?

Numbered images and PDFs (PDF may include source notes). Share via the system sheet. The app does not write into the system Photos library.

Are recordings included?

Not by default. Confirm options and recipients before sharing.

How do I delete local data?

In Me, tap Delete All Data and confirm the prompt. This does not remove copies already shared. Email us if you also need optional cloud private records removed.

Privacy and pricing

Is it paid?

Current naming, roll call, confirm, and export flows are free with no IAP.

Does it scan faces?

No. Manual boxes and your notes only.
